“West Sussex Music Service has a long-standing association with Lodge Hill Residential Centre going back to the 1970s. Lodge Hill provides the ideal accommodation for music courses and rehearsals………enjoying a high standard of catering for meals and making the most of relaxing in beautiful surroundings during free time.
The residential element of the courses allows recreational activities for students in the evenings to be included, and all residents are well looked after, with health and safety a priority.
One student was looking forward to her residential course when she commented: "How long is it until we go to Lodge Hill? I can't wait!“..and this reflects the view of the majority of our students, many of whom return year after year. ”

“Hayes School Drama Department have been coming to Lodge Hill since 2004……………… What began as an optional experiment has now become an integral part of our A Level teaching and this is in no small part down to the facilities, environment and operational management of the Lodge Hill Centre. The Bradbury Meeting Hall is the perfect base for our group workshops, the Limerick Studio and Oak Room have provided inspiration for some highly atmospheric pieces of devised theatre and the spectacular woodland has given our students a genuinely eye-opening insight into the possibilities of site-specific promenade theatre. The staff have always been patient and accommodating…….we have always felt thoroughly looked after.
Being able to work with our students intensively over a weekend at Lodge Hill is a pleasure and a luxury.”

“The Forest School has a long association with the Lodge Hill Centre. We visit annually in September with over 200 new Year 7 pupils as part of our Year 7 Discovery Week.
This is an opportunity for pupils to take part in a variety of team building activities and cement new and old friendships at their new secondary school.
We do Archery, Low Ropes, Tunnelling and this year tried the Crate Stack Challenge. This was a fantastic team building activity and proved very popular with our boys.
Both staff and pupils are always made to feel so welcome by the team at Lodge Hill – it really is like coming back to visit a family every year and long may it continue!”
