Beginners: an introduction for absolute beginners to the language of survival/holiday Spanish. The emphasis here is on comprehension and communication at a basic level,. By the end of the day the learners should feel confident to understand and respond in Spanish to some simple everyday expressions that a first-time traveller may encounter in a Spanish-speaking environment.
Intermediate: for people who wish to develop more confidence or who feel that their Spanish has gone rusty. Learners will be expected to have mastered survival Spanish and be ready for extending their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. There will be an introduction to past tenses and an insight into the culture and history of Spanish-speaking countries. In the first session of the day we will try to find the right level for the group to make sure that everyone feels comfortable.
Advanced: A day for confident and experienced learners, who have done at least four years of part-time study and want to keep up their conversation and writing skills in Spanish.. Grammatical structures will be revised and there will be plenty of opportunities for exploring cultural topics related to Spanish-speaking countries. The emphasis will be on communication and the topics of conversation will be very flexible, with . suggestions from learners being particularly welcome.
The whole emphasis of these taster courses will be on informal, relaxed and enjoyable learning at every level.
